In accordance with the latest Emergency Executive Order from Governor Tim Walz, as of May 28, 2021, all COVID restrictions for churches have been removed.
Previous Restrictions: This list of protocols is closely in line with recommendations from Center For Disease Control, Minnesota Department of Health and the State of Minnesota. This list has been updated to include the requirements from Governor Tim Walz's Emergency Executive Order 20-81. A list of these protocols will be sent to all congregants by email, and copies will be available within the front doors of our church and posted on the wall.
Wellness Request: We ask that all who enter the VVAG facility respect the health and well-being of one another. If you are ill, have any symptoms of illness, or have been exposed to any individual who is ill or who has symptoms of illness within the past 14 days, we ask that you please refrain from entering the VVAG facility. We invite you to join us for worship via our online experience. If you need to cough or sneeze, please cover your mouth, then wash and sanitize your hands immediately.
Pre-service measures:
The kitchen will remain closed at this time.
The drinking fountain will be closed for use. Water bottles will be available for all worshippers. (There may be other measures used for water supply as well.)
The church nursery will be closed for use at this time.
The front half of our church facility will be used for Valley View Assembly of God’s worship service while the new addition will be used by the Hispanic church. This means we will only be using the bathrooms in the church foyer while the Hispanic church uses the bathrooms in Hall C. We ask our worshippers to use only the foyer, sanctuary, foyer bathrooms and overflow side rooms in Halls A & B of our church facility.
The inside front doors and all other doors will be propped open with the exceptions of the bathrooms.
Sanctuary pews: Every other pew will be taped off and every other pew will be used for seating. We ask that families sit together. We ask that the ends of the pews be used and avoid using the middle of the pews except for families who may take up as much of the pew as their family requires. If a family uses over ½ of a pew, the other end of that pew should remain vacant.
Each area of the church facility will be completely cleaned after each use.
Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available throughout the facility.
Face coverings (mask, scarf, bandanna, neck gaiter, religious face covering or face shield) will be required for attendance. Allowable exemptions can be found in Section 8 of Governor Tim Walz's Emergency Executive Order 20-81. Room A1 will have a monitor for viewing the service and will be designated as a “mask only” room for those who would feel more comfortable worshipping there.
We will now park our cars using the lined parking spaces.
Church worship service:
Sunday morning service will begin at 10:00 am. Our service will be approximately 45 minutes in length with 15 minutes of worship (songs & prayer), and a 30 minute message. Dismissal will be approximately at 10:45 am. The shortened service at this time is to accommodate parents with children and to limit exposure time.
With the exception of those who have to come early for service preparations, we ask that worshipers arrive 10-15 minutes before hand. Once inside we ask you limit social visiting and proceed into the sanctuary to find your seating. There will be no “greeters” or “ushers” as usual, but a Church Board member will be available to provide direction or for questions.
There will be no nursery or children’s ministries on Sunday morning at this time.
There will be no offering received during our service. Outside the sanctuary in our foyer there will be a table with a collection box for worshipper’s tithes & offerings. Of course, giving can also be done online at our webpage - vvaglc.org.
At the end of service, board members will dismiss worshipers row by row beginning from the back of the sanctuary. We ask that worshipers exit the building. Please limit inside visiting and do extended visiting outside in the parking lot.
We ask that those who worship with us on Sunday mornings will be aware of and endeavor to practice social distancing at approximately 6 foot distances.
Additional Information:
Until further notice, VVAG and the Hispanic church will be hosting one worship service each onsite. All other ministries will continue to be carried out electronically through Facebook, Zoom, etc. There may be some ministries hosted in homes as well at the discretion of the Pastor/Church Board.
We do encourage our congregants to check their mailboxes along with any packages or gift bags that may in on or around the mailbox stand.
On Communion Sunday, communion elements will be set up on a table outside the sanctuary for congregants to take and bring with them on their way into the sanctuary. The communion elements will not be served to congregants by Board Members during the worship service.
All of the protocols listed above are based on current recommendations. The Church Board may change these protocols at any time and will endeavor to give ample notice to all congregants if/when this happens. Our situation is fluid and while we hope for a lessening of protocols until a return to “normal” for our church ministries, please be aware that it is possible that if conditions would worsen and warrant it, there could be added protocols or a return to Drive-in church/on line worship measures.
Note: If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Pastor Orin Sandberg at his cell #(651)380-4258.
